Earlier this week, American Honda Motor Co. Inc. purchased 11.4 acres of land in southwest Longmont. The plan is to build a new $20M, 60,000 sq. ft. data center that will house about a dozen high-end IT positions. The facility will be what they call a tier-three, ‘hardened’ data center. It is a redundant facility that will ensure reliable uptime of all the data for Honda in North America.
This will be Honda’s second facility in Colorado, its first is a training center for dealers in Englewood.
